The fingerprint scanner is used in high configuration smartphones till the mid of 2015. But in the second mid of 2015, we have seen multiple of low-cost smartphones with a fingerprint sensor. This is why Asus is considering to include it in their next third-generation Zenfone 3 phones. Asus Zenfone 3 could launch in May or June 2016. The adaptation of fingerprint sensors in a smartphone is currently at 30% which is expected to rise to 50% till 2016.

Asus Zenfone is doing good business in India, Southeast Asia, Russia, Taiwan, and Brazil markets. Asus is also considering to target the markets of Bangladesh, Cambodia, Myanmar, Nigeria and Egypt in 2016. Not only this Asus is facing strong competition in terms of price from other companies. China-based smartphone companies like Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, Lenovo and other are releasing a low-cost smartphone in the markets which is difficult to compete. As per reports, Asus could have shipped 20 Million smartphone in 2015. They are targeting to ship 30 Million smartphones in 2016.

To see the exact configuration of Asus Zenfone 3, we will have to wait till May 2016 when Asus will announce the smartphone.
