Wait for Android 6.0 is over for NVIDIA Shield Tablet users. They are now getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on their NVIDIA Shield Tablet. The users who are using the second gen Shield Tablet, they have already seen the update. However, customers who have purchased the first gen Shield tablet, 2014 model, they are getting the update now.


If you are using the First gen NVIDIA Shield tablet then you will get the update in the form of an Over-the-air (OTA) notification. This should also be available when you navigate to the Settings menu under the About Phone page. The release notes shared by the company contains the huge list of changes. You can see the same as this is a massive OS upgrade. Along with this upgrade, you are also getting a few “optimized preloaded apps” which are added by the company and it’s a good news for fans of the tablet.

Here are the few things that you will see in the new User Interface Upgrades:

  • Personalize Home & Lock screens with new NVIDIA wallpapers
  • Personalize Quick Settings menu
  • Google Now voice commands can be launched from lock screen

Make sure you are using Wi-Fi connection to upgrade your tablet as the size of the update is large.
