Xiaomi Mi5 which is a new flagship device by Xiaomi is going be introduced by Xiaomi in India on 31st March 2016. Xiaomi has sent media invites for this event and the event is scheduled on coming Thursday at New Delhi. The event will start from 2:30 PM onwards. After the launch of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, now the company will be launching Mi5. The device is already launched in China, therefore, everybody is aware of specifications. However, we still need to check the prices.
As per the reports, Mi5 should be priced at Rs 25,000 and it can be because the phone has got such powerful specifications. Xiaomi Mi5 has 5.15-inch Full HD display and 1920×1080 pixels of resolution. It is powered by Quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.1GHz. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow (MIUI 7).
The phone is 7.25mm thick and it weighs 129g. Camera wise, it has 16 Megapixels rear camera with Optical Image Stabilisation and 4 Megapixels front camera (2um pixel size). There will be different variants in terms of RAM and ROM i.e. 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM. Another one can be 3GB RAM and 32/64GB storage. We are not sure if the company is going to launch 64GB edition in India. Connectivity wise, it has 4G LTE with dual-SIM support, 3G, 2G, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, Type C port, Infrared port and fingerprint sensor.
It will be packed with 3,000mAh battery(Non-removable). The Redmi Note 3 got a 4050mAh removable battery. Let’s take a quick look at the price tag that is already launched by the company:
- 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory priced at 1,999 CNY (Rs 21,000 approx)
- 3GB RAM and 6432GB internal memory priced at 2,299 CNY (Rs 24,000 approx)
- 4GB RAM and 128GB internal memory priced at 2,699 CNY (Rs 28,200 approx).
We are not sure about the above prices in India. As per our guess, it could be around Rs 20,000.
