Gionee P7 is a smartphone with a price tag of Rs 9,999. The phone has a sparkling design and a glossy body and it is powered by 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and 2300mAh battery. The smartphone was launched in last month of 2016.
We have got a chance to review this smartphone. I have used this smartphone for more than 2 weeks as my secondary device. In this post, I’ll be sharing my experience in detail, just to start, the camera of the phone is average but the design is awesome. Let’s start the Gionee P7 review in detail.
Design & Display
I personally liked the design and display of the Gionee P7. The phone has got a 12.7 Cm (5.0) HD IPS Capacitive Display With Soda Lime Protection. It has 1280 x 720 Pixels of resolution. It has a transparent & glossy texture that makes this smartphone a beautiful style symbol. When I hold the phone for the first time, I liked the smooth body with a comfortable grip. It weighs only 124g.
If we take a look on the front side, we get LED light that shows the charging status, front camera and receiver. On the front bottom side, we get capacitive buttons. On the top, we get 3.5mm audio jack and on the bottom side, it has micro USB port, secondary microphone.
It has volume rocker key and power button key on the right side. This is a dual sim smartphone and you can insert two sims, along with one MicroSD card. The SIMs can be inserted by removing the back cover.
On the back side, we get a rear camera and LED light. It also has Gionee logo and speaker at the back side.
Software, Hardware and Performance
Gionee P7 is powered by quad core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It runs on Android Lollipop 6.0 based on Amigo 3.2. The phone is packed with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage space. The ROM can be expanded upto 128 GB with the microSD card. It has 2300mAH battery. You can get up to 23 Hrs (2G)/ 8.5 Hrs (3G) / 12.5 Hrs (CDMA). You will get a charger, USB cable and earphones.
There are a lot of advance settings like smart gestures, accessibility, Printing, schedule power on/off etc. There are a lot of shortcuts which can be used by swiping the finger from down to up. You can get ‘Torch’, ‘Data connection’, ‘Sound’ and ‘Super Screenshot’ features on this tray. Once you click on more, you will get lot of options which can be customized.
While doing Gionee P7 review, we have noticed some popular apps pre-installed in it like Flipkart, Saavn, Xender, etc. Also, you will get a System Manager from which you can clear the used memory and manage app or battery for enhancing the performance.
We have played different games and the phone works well on this. However, the phone may show some lag for heavy memory usage games.
The feature that I liked is long screenshots, you can take screenshot depending upon your requirements. An example of the long screenshot is given below:
The phone has an 8.0 megapixel Camera With LED Flash. There are different modes available and I have clicked different pictures usings different modes. A few modes which are available in Gionee P7 are Features Face Beauty, HDR, Night Mode, Panorama, Professional, Time-Lapse, Smart Scene, Text Recognition, GIF, PicNote, Smart Scan, Mood Photo.
It has 5 megaPixel with Screen Flash and you can click decent pictures.
Overall the camera performance is average. Though the pictures clicked using Flash were good but colors of the pictures is slightly different from the original. You can check the camera sample in which I have clicked photos using Flash and without Flash.

Gionee P7 review – Final words
When I saw this smartphone for very first time, I liked the Design and display and it is really great. Yes, you can hold the smartphone in one hand and it is quite slim and handy. Gionee P7 user interface is good and you will get a good battery backup if you use it normally. Though it has 2300mAh battery, but you will get good output.
In terms of Camera, it has an average camera but you can click good photographs especially in daylight. You can use different modes for an awesome photograph with this camera. It’s a low budget smartphone under 10K. If you use the smartphone for normal use i.e excluding heavy games then you should go with this smartphone. Buy Gionee P7 (Grey, 16 GB)
